KEVIN Selwood’s fine 60 break proved a highlight as his side Pontyberem Workmen’s enjoyed a 6-1 victory against Llanesco in the Llanelli Snooker League first division.

S. Caton, A. Harris, C. Rees and E. Bowen also won, and only M. Stevenson’s frame win prevented a whitewash.

Matchroom Whites went one better with a 7-0 win against Gorseinon Workmen’s as N. Davies, L. Davies, C. Davies, A. Edwards, T. Rees and D. Roberts all won.

Mark Regola provided Ponthenri’s solitary point as they sank 6-1 at Reading Room Blues. L. Jones, C. Jones, J. Ellis, C. Howells and N.roberts all won for the Burry Port side.

J. Tudor, L. Holland, L. Lloyd and C. Thomas helped Trimsaran win 4-3 at Burry Port Legion. Rich Nurse and D. Thomas helped secure the losing aggregate point for the home side.

K. Sullivan and M. Footman were Pontarddul­ais Workmen’s winning pair in a 5-2 reversal against Snooker World Whites. Jamie Gimblett, Anthony Krysa, Ben Thomas and C. James won for the Ammanford cuemen.

Dean Bowen, Mike Rees and Mark Sargent edged a 4-3 win for Llanelli Cons A at Upper Tumble Blues, who hit back via J. Evans, D. Treharne and J. Bradley.

Adrian Phillips was Cross Hands B’s only frame-winner in a 6-1 defeat at Matchroom Reds. A. Rosser, Brian Newcombe, R. Evans, J. Thomas and L. Grey all won for the Llaneli side.

In division two, J. Townsend, M. Boland, M. Farley and M. Lyons earned Bryn A a 5-2 success against Upper Tumble Reds. Nigel Beynon and Mike Sainty replied.

Paul Garritty provided Tycroes RFC’S only point in a 6-1 loss to Bryn B, whose winning quintet were D. Marks, J. Frater, K. Myhill, L. Powell and L.williams.

Burry Port Reading Room Reds, for whom T. Rawlings and C.H urley struck, went down 5-2 at New Lodge B, for whom Andrew John (two 24 breaks), Martin Tucker (25, 21), George Langford and Phil Ayers won.

Chris Waters, Joe Morgan, Alan Jones, Rhys Jones (23) and Callum Fuge steered Snooker World Blues to a 6-1 victory over Llandybie

RFC, whose only point came from Liam Mcghee.

It was close at Cross Hands A, where CGMD emerged 4-3 winners courtesy of Wyn Llewelyn, Matthew Jones and the impressive James Varney. Adam Rees, Andrew Wood and Matthew James replied.

Nathan Brain, Ryan Maides and James Anthony edged a 4-3 win for Matchroom Blacks at Pontarddul­ais Cons B, who hit back through David Gabe, Mark Aberstraw and Anthony Shadrach.

Pontarddul­ais Cons B had a busy time, and in a rearranged fixture they beat visitors CGMD 5-2 thanks to Gethin Daniel, Geraint Thomas, David Gabe and Mark Aberstraw. J. Evans and James Varney won for the Fishermen’s.
