Protect the world for our future generations

- Council leader Emlyn Dole POLITICALLY CORRECT

CLIMATE change is, quite rightly, at the top of the news agenda as the UK plays host to the COP26 global summit.

It remains at the top of our agenda too. We’ve made so secret of our aim to become a net carbon zero authority by 2030 - indeed we were one of the first local authorities to declare a climate emergency back in 2019.

Since then, we’ve published our climate change action plan detailing the progress we’ve already made and plans for further action to take as we focus on that net zero target.

There’s no doubt that the scale of the challenge is huge, but we firmly believe that small changes will eventually make a big difference.

And that’s why we have launched Prosiect Zero Sir Gâr - a campaign that will not only shine a spotlight on what we are doing as a council but should inspire everyone to get involved.

We have thrown down a challenge to school children to become our Prozect Zero Super Heroes, harnessing their super powers to come up with ideas that will help protect their future.

And when it boils down to it, that’s why we are tackling climate change to protect the world for our future generations.

We will look at every avenue to help the authority reduce its carbon footprint, we will look at ways of using and generating renewable energy and off-setting our carbon emissions by planting trees and creating green spaces.

But what changes can you make that will help us make a big difference?
