Sports meeting The well attended meeting of trustees was given an update on Insurance cover following a site visit by a representative of the firm of Brokers. Important advice had been given and valuations of the various assets carried out. It was agreed that the policy which had been drawn up met our requirements and was accepted. Some of the work clearing undergrowth and exposing the footpath is still to be completed and hopefully it will be done in the next few weeks. Rhian distributed the up to date bank statement and has provided evidence of monies spent in recent months as evidence for those who have provided grant aid during the pandemic. Christmas festivities were discussed with Roger Davies volunteering a tree for the square. Carol singing on Christmas Eve is in doubt but if the hall is not available an alternative celebration will be planned. Mark Clement outlined a scheme for upgrading football and cricket pitches. Richard Meade described it as an opportunity and agreed in principle but agreement with the relevant club members is needed before moving on with the project. A decision to be made at the November meeting. Arrangements were made for the reopening of the fitness suite. Several expressions of interest have been received and the purchase of hand sanitiser and signage was arranged. The next meeting will be on Monday, November 29, at 7 pm again in the pavilion.

Fitness suite reopening The good news is that the fitness suite in the pavilion on the Morfa will be open from Monday, November 1. Membership forms are available from Rhys Emlyn and are also in the village store. The annual fee is £52 for unlimited use and membership secretary Rhys is available to answer queries on 07757679195. Poppy collections Due to the ongoing situation in regards to the pandemic it has been decided that door to door poppy selling will not take place this year. However the money raised is still much needed and there will be collecting boxes in the local shops and public houses. Details of Remembrance services will be available in next weeks edition.
