Grab and Bag Group On November 12, the volunteer litter picking group will be meeting at Waun Sidn in Pembrey SN 423 013 at 10am. All equipment is provided but please be sure to bring a pair of gloves. As well as cleaning up our local areas volunteers can also sign up to receive time credits.everyone is welcome but children under 16 must be accompanie­d by an adult. Harbour Music and Poetry Meets every Monday at 7.30pm in the Burry Port Yacht Club.it is a community project enabling people of all ages and abilities to share their musical and literary skills. It takes the form of ‘open mic’ and special guests and audience are warmly welcomed.

Ty Golau Memory Problems Group We have resumed weekly sessions every Monday at Canolfan John Burns Centre, Carmarthen Road, Kidwelly from 10.30am to noon. Social distancing is in place and we request that you wear masks until you are seated. Refresment­s are included in the cost of £5 for service users and £1for carers. Burry Port Male Choir We have resumed rehersals at 7pm on Thursdays at the Burry Port Memorial Hall. If you want to sing and join a great group of men, come along to the rehearsal. Nothing to worry about as there is no audition. Your town choir needs you!

Historical society The Pembrey and Burry Port Historical Society has resumed activities. Please note we now meet in the Ashburham Hotel at 7pm on the second Tuesday in the month. The next meeting on Tuesday, November 9, is the annual quiz night.

Singing for the Soul This has started again on the first and third Wednesdays of the month from 2-4pm in Jerusalem Chapel Vestry, Burry Port, SA16 0DA where there is plenty of parking. New members are very welcome. Open to men and women, no experience or commitment required. With no expectatio­ns,judgements,or auditions,we offer an afternoon of singing uplifting songs in a group of like-minded people. £3 each session including refreshmen­ts. There will be Covid safety measures in place. The venue requires us to wear a face-covering while singing,either a mask or visor. Clear visors will be available to buy if you don’t already have one. Garden club The Pembrey and Burry Port Club are unable to resume their meetings due to extensive repairs taking place at the Community Hall, Pembrey, our regular meeting venue. The committee will meet in the new year to discuss resuming meetings.

Cefn Sidan U3A We expect to be back in the

Pensioners’ Hall by now. Social distancing should be observed and masks should be worn where possible. Inside meetings now take place in either the the main Memorial Hall or the Pensioner’s Hall unless otherwise stated. Yoga is at 10.30am every Monday (except bank holidays) with Richard Rees at £4 per person per session. Please note yoga is no longer an official U3A activity, but we will continue to advertise the meetings in our monthly programmes and encourage our members to support it. November meetings are today the whist group meet at the Neptune 2.30pm. Tomorrow the Bus Pass Explorers go to Llandrindo­d Wells by 9.51 train. You will need your bus pass to pick up a ticket at Llanelli railway station to Llandrindo­d Wells (no charge). Check times of return trains. Friday cycle groups are postponed for winter. Every Friday the conversati­onal Welsh group is suspended as it needs a new leader. Sunday is Sunday Lunch at Stradey Park Hotel for 1pm. Monday is work on the Station Garden at 10am. Tuesday at 2pm is Square Dancing. Novemer 10 at 10.45am is the coffee morning. November 12 is the new crochet group at 2pm. Please bring a 4mm crochet hook. Also at 7.30pm is the theatre group trip to see Keeping up Appearance­s by the Little Theatre Group. Tickets £12, see Chris Hartley. November 15 is the main meeting at 2.15pm with Paul Reynolds. November 16 at 10.30am the Welsh history group with Malcolm Macdonald sharing with us the story of Roger of Salisbury. Also at 2pm is the short walk. November 17 the quiz group meet at Neptune at 2.15pm. November 18, the Luncheon Club are at the Sandpiper for 1pm. November 22, the drama group meet at 2.15pm. November 23 the Silver Screen may be on, we are checking. There is also square dancing at 2pm. November 25 at 11.10am is the discussion group with subjects to be decided. Food Forward food boxes Collaborat­ing with Fairshare and Pembrey and Burry Port Town Council, Food Forward Burry Port is a Lottery funded project which will support residents in your area.the following changes are to be made for those who attend the CBSA Community Store at the senior citizens hall, Burry Port. Please check if the venue has changed. The opening times are every Tuesday between 11am and 5pm. Do you need to stretch your food budget a little further each week? Do you know someone who is finding times hard? £1 a year for membership then each week you will have the option of spending £3.50 or £5 for goods worth between £15 to £20. No referrals required. CBSA are supported by Faireshare Cymru, Morrisons and Burry Port Co-op. Call in on Tuesday to see what it’s all about. Our volunteers would love to meet you.
