MORGAN Laroche is a full-service practice offering specialist legal advice to businesses and private clients in Swansea and Carmarthen.

It describes itself as “not large and not bureaucratic, but we are brilliant at providing strategic solutions to our clients”.

THE COMPANY ETHOS

Morgan Laroche says it plays to its strengths, and that means it specialises in the areas of law that it knows it excels at.

“So, while we do all things that you would expect from your lawyers we do them creatively, intelligently and with the utmost of care.

Our depth of expertise also ensures that we are able to provide specialist advice to businesses operating across a diverse range of sectors.”

ITS CLIENTS

The company says it doesn’t have an ‘average’ client. It says: “At Morgan Laroche, we just don’t do average”.

However, its clients do share common ground: whether its entrepreneurs building their small and burgeoning businesses, multi-nationals looking to diversify or individuals looking to resolve family problems or make wills, it says its clients come to it because they want the best legal advice: “That, of course, is precisely what we deliver.”

THE MORGAN LAROCHE DIFFERENCE

Morgan Laroche tailors its approach to its clients’ needs, be it formal, laid back or anywhere in between.

It also recognises that providing high-quality legal advice and understanding its clients’ businesses and business needs are of equal importance.

A NEW RECRUIT

Morgan Laroche recently welcomed Rhys ap Gwent as a solicitor in the Corporate and Commercial team. Rhys specialises in commercial contracts, data protection, and the contractual protection of intellectual property.

Rhys was educated in Swansea at Ysgol Gyfun Gwyr before graduating at Cardiff University and completing his LPC in Swansea University. Having completed a BSC prior to studying law - Rhys has, since qualifying as solicitor, cultivated a particular interest in the science and technology sectors.

He has advised many start-ups, and academic spin-outs, as well as large established companies, in fields ranging from medical devices and pharmaceuticals, to digital currency, mobile apps, and artificial intelligence. In particular, he is experienced in helping clients define and protect their intellectual property assets, by advising on matters such as confidentiality agreements, trademark applications, and IP licences and assignments.

He also advises clients across all sectors on all the contracts needed to trade from day to day, such as reseller and distribution agreements, purchase/ sale agreements, framework agreements and T&CS.

Rhys also helps clients ensure that their contracts appropriately govern the exchange of personal data with third parties, giving peace of mind around compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and the GDPR.

Rhys is a fluent Welsh speaker and is able to advise clients through the medium of Welsh if required.
