LOUGHOR Rovers are still flying in the West Wales Intermedia­te Cup, and reached the last 16 with a cracking 3-0 win against visiting Birchgrove Colts.

Although the LTC Mobility Carmarthen­shire League Premier division side lost 3-0 at home to Brynawel in the last round, their opponents were thrown out of the competitio­n after an appeal.

Loughor took full advantage of their good fortune, with goals from Logan James, Joel Goddard and Mike Grimwade giving them the edge on Saturday.

And joining Loughor in the hat for the fourth-round draw are Bwlch Rangers, who made ground advantage count in knocking out Waunarlwyd­d Galaxy 3-1.

After opening their account through Dai Lewis in the 33rd minute, Jesse Howell grabbed an all-important second for Bwlch in the 48th minute.

Kieran Dawe scored a third in the 76th minute, but the star man for the home team was the influentia­l Burchell Elliot.

Also through to the fourth round are Pontarddul­ais Town, for whom striker Cameron Davies oozed class with two goals in the 4-1 win at home to CK Swiss Valley.

A couple more goals from Joel Beynon and Liam Owen helped Bont pull clear.

But there was a disappoint­ing exit for Evans & Williams, who crashed 2-1 in the away tie against St Clears.

Trailing 1-0 at half-time, the home side hit back through Steve Thomas and Karl Jones to edge victory.

A big threat to all will be Pembrokesh­ire League division one kingpins Hakin United. Their striker Shane Walsh led the way with four goals in the 6-2 away win against Bryn Rovers in Brynaman. The other goals were scored by Laurie Howarth and Jayden Chapman.

It is the end of the road, however, for Goodwick United, who saw their dreams dashed by a goal from Ieuan Priede in a 1-0 loss at home to South Gower.

There was a hat-trick for Adam Campbell, which helped West Wales Premier League side Seven Sisters Onllwyn to a hard-fought 4-2 win against visiting Sandfields. Leon Thomas netted a fourth, while James Figgures and James Jones found the net for Sandfields.

The postponed tie between Merlins Bridge and Ynystawe Athletic will be played next Saturday, as will the other three outstandin­g ties: Dafen, Fishguard Sports and Trostre AFC host Giants Grave, Glais and Ynysmeudwy Athletic respective­ly.

In the only game played in the West Wales Premier League, Mumbles Rangers climbed two places into fifth following a 3-1 win at Cwm Wanderers. Christian Allen made his mark with two goals, and there was one for Elliot Smith.

In the Premier division of the Carmarthen­shire League, Pengelli United extended their unbeaten run to five games and moved into third place in the table following a deserved 2-0 win at Burry Port.

After getting the better of the midfield duel, Pengelli secured the points with goals from Riley Lewis and James Richards.

In division one, Connor Morgan scored two for third-placed Camford Sports against visiting Llandeilo Town. There was also one for Owen Rees.

Runaway leaders Felinfoel were given a tough time of it by visiting FC Carmarthen and had to settle for a point in a 2-2 draw. Two goals from Chris James for Foel were cancelled out by a couple from Osian Thomas.

Kidwelly Town and Pwll Athletic shared a 2-2 draw. Robert Hammond and Harley James netted for Kidwelly, with Steffan James and Mike Morgan replying for Pwll.

With four teams locked on the same number of points, it is tight at the top of division two. A 7-0 win at CP Suburbs helped lift Caerbryn into second spot on goal difference.

Four of the goals were shared equally between Cameron Jones and Rhys Morgan, with Kieran Jones, Kyle

Wells and Oliver Dymond adding their names to the scoresheet.

Ammanford Town A rose to the occasion to beat leaders Pembrey 4-2 in their own back yard.

It was a thoroughly deserved three points, earned courtesy of goals from Adam Wolley, Ben Edwards, Grant Stamp and Sam Jones.

Jamie Phillips was in the thick of the action with two goals for Dafen Reserves, who won 6-1 at Penllergae­r. Also on target were Lennon Evans, Steve Coomey, Hans Singh and Alex Angear.

Burry Port A took the spotlight in reserve division three after an eyecatchin­g 6-2 win at Pwll Athletic Reserves. Striker Dean Thomas shone with a hat-trick.

Two of the goals were scored by Ben John, with Dan James also netting.

Pwll refused to throw in the towel, replying with goals from Finley Hodgson and Lewis Bowen.
