AMMANFORD side Snooker World Whites were in good potting form in the Llanelli Snooker League first division as they overcame visiting Ponthenri 5-2. Ben Thomas’s break of 63, added to Anthony Krysa’s swift 40 knock, plus winning support from John Meadows and Sam Hinton proved enough. Jeff Howells and Nigel Lewis replied.

At the top of the table, Matchroom Reds and Trimsaran are tied on 53 points.

Dan Wells’s 68 break in his frame win was the only highlight for Matchroom Reds as they lost 5-2 to Morfa Social, for whom Nigel Rees, Andrew Hatto, Nicky Hughes and Barry Follows struck.

Dean Thomas, Rich Nurse and Garnet Lane gave Burry Port Legion a great start, but hosts Matchroom Whites came from behind to win 4-3 courtesy of D. Roberts, C. Davies and L. Davies.

Jeff Jones and Paul Martin helped secure the aggregate point for Cross Hands B, who went down 4-3 to Llanesco, for whom Peter Shoulder, L. Lloyd, C. Rees and C. Lloyd won.

There were some tasty breaks at Brighton Road, where Gorseinon Workmen’s hammered Llandybie Social 7-0, Mike Dodd (57 break), Jon Wilcox (35 & 27), Keith Murrells, Mike Davies and C. Bolton all winning.

Kevin Selwood provided Pontyberem Workmen’s only win in a 6-1 reversal at Pontarddul­ais Workmen’s, whose winning quintet were Kevin Sullivan, Keri Davies, Adam Griffiths, Steve Davies and Steve Dunn.

Trimsaran went one better, thrashing Llanelli Cons 7-0 as Jamie Tudor, Colin Foreman, L. Holland, Kieran Proctor, M. Foreman and W. Thomas all won.

E. Rees and M. Hughes were on top for Upper Tumble Blues in a 5-2 loss against Reading Room Blues, for whom Neil Roberts (35), C. Howells, Peter Kelly and Adrian Gower all won.

In division two, Geraint Thomas, Keith Williams, Gethin Daniel and Rob Davey gave Pontarddul­ais Cons B a 5-2 victory at New Lodge B, who hit back through Phil Thickett and Andrew John.

C. Barrett, E. Anderson, K. Myhill and Aaron Cruickshan­k steered Bryn & Trallwm B to a 5-2 win against Upper Tumble Reds, whose winning duo were K. Evans and R. Williams.

Joshua Jordan’s frame win prevented a whitewash for Llandybie RFC, beaten 6-1 at Burry Port Reading Room Reds. Phil Payne, T. Rawlings, J. Dean, S. Gower and C. Evans won for the home side.

Snooker World Blues shocked unbeaten leaders Gremlins by winning 5-2 as Callum Fuge, S. Rees, Linden Cox and Alan Jones (27 clearance) struck. R. Barney and B. Price replied. Gremlins remain top by a point.

A man-short Bryn A, for whom J. Jones and C. Richards won, went down 5-2 at Llandybie Social B. S. Pearson, J. Poole and P. Watkins won for the Social.
