AT the April meeting there were no apologies for absence and was welcomed by Marion. Members were pleased to be back in the committee room as prior to the pandemic.

The minutes of the last meeting were read, approved and signed. The social meeting to be held at Tea Traders was changed as Tea Traders are closed on a Monday so members met in the Guildhall Coffee lounge, which was most enjoyable.

This month members will meet in St Twrog’s Church to view the church and its association with the Puxley family who were friends of Daphne De Maurier who wrote about the family in her book “Hungry Hill” on the 25th of this month at 2pm. A discussion then took place regarding the invitation from Llansaint to visit on September 15 for “Aloha” but no final desision made. Members were prepared to host the Autumn Group meeting and Sandra would contact the other members of the Gwenllian Group for a group committee meeting.

It was decided to construct a card for the village notice board to state the existence of the institute which was founded in 1954. The monthly newsletter was then discussed and of particular interest were the chocolate coffee morning on April 9 at St Peter’s Bowls club from 10am-12.30pm and the afternoon tea and fashion show at the Ivy Bush Hotel on June 8, with several members adding their names to the list.

Sandra collected the annual subscriptions due this month and monies due for federation organised events including the “Cher” show on August 25.

The subject for the evening was a recipe and sample of a favourite item which produced a delicious supper for members. The raffle was then drawn with Elizabeth having the winning ticket and the meeting was concluded.
