LEADER of Carmarthenshire Council and Plaid in the county Emlyn Dole has lost his seat. Mr Dole was standing in the Llannon ward and received 561 votes, but was surpassed by his fellow Plaid Cymru candidate Llinos Mai Davies and Labour’s Dot Jones. You said . . .

Stephen James Bright So they loaded the seat with two Plaid candidates and split their own vote? In terms of ‘own goal’ strategies this must be seen as a political masterstroke. Lucky he wasn’t in charge of anything important like, er, the ruling group of the council or something… Zoë Mitchell Shame the same didn’t happen in Carmarthen where there is a huge need for change.

Leigh Wrona If only there was a ‘SIGN’ that this might happen? Nerys Watkins Devastated for Emlyn. Shocked at the results. But that’s how it goes. Should have been two seats to Plaid! This Labour lady better prove her worth and do good for the community.

NEWCASTLE Emlyn teenager Tomos Evans is attracting attention on Tiktok for his incredible rugby kicks in his back garden. One of the 14-year-old’s videos captures him launching a kick over his parents’ house which then curls through a set of rugby posts in a nearby field. Here are some of your views . . .

Anthony Edwards Great kicker for his age. Well done lad, hopefully those that can help you forward your career take notice.

Betilyn Alwyn-jones Good future player for Wales.

CUSTOMER Joshua Thomas has been keeping a record of the state of a Costa Coffee machine at a Co-op in Llandovery since January, saying the unclean machine was the worst he’d ever seen. Here’s what you thought about it . . .

Michelle Pyle That is disgusting and clearly not cleaned daily in my opinion.

Will Daniel Rees That is disgusting.
