Shops urged to remove products

-

A WEST Wales council is urging shops and businesses to remove Kinder products which have been linked to an outbreak of salmonella in children.

As of last week, there have been 76 cases of salmonella in the UK linked to certain Kinder products made in a factory in Belgium, with the majority of those affected being children under the age of five.

The UK Health Security Agency said on April 29 that it was continuing to investigate the ongoing outbreak.

Ceredigion Council has now issued a warning to all retailers that they should “remove Kinder products linked to an outbreak of salmonella from their shelves”.

A spokeswoman for the council said: “The products are believed to have caused a significant number of children to become seriously unwell, with many reported cases being admitted to hospital.”

The list released by Ceredigion Council of products which should be taken off shelves is as follows:

Kinder Surprise 20g – best before dates up to and including January 4, 2023;

Kinder Surprise 20g x 3 multipacks – best before dates up to and including January 4, 2023;
