Lindy takes category win
A TOTAL of 25 runners from Taf Running and Orienteering took part in the Mayor’s 5k race in Carmarthen.
Ben Hutchison was first home, finishing 11th in 18 minutes 45 seconds. Luke Evans was also inside the top 20, coming in 17th in just over 20 minutes.
Lindy Eynon and Mary Anthony were in contention for the F55 category win throughout the race, with Eynon proving stronger in the latter stages to win by 18 seconds. Just behind them was Kevin Jenkins, who was third in the M60 category.
Following a busy crosscountry season, junior athlete Manon Phillips enjoyed her first experience of road racing as she took the runners-up spot in the Year 5 and 6 girls’ race. Joining her in the junior races were clubmates Ffion Davies-bishop and Hanna Powell (Year 7 and 8 girls) and Mason Barnes, Jacob Barnes and Cianan Pickersgill (Years 5 and 6 boys).
