LLANELLI ACES DELIVER GOODS
LLANELLI Athletics Club made their first appearance in the UK Youth Development League for under-13 and under-15 age groups at the first fixture of the season at the Outdoor Sports Complex in Yate, Gloucestershire.
And the youngsters made their presence felt with a number of highclass performances.

The day ended with victories in both the under-15 girls’ 4x100m and 4x300m relay. Campion, Jones, Dawney, Coslett, Roberts, Penno’hare and Wilson made up the relay teams.
Chelmsford Athletics Centre staged the BUCS & BT Outdoor Athletics Championships where athletes represented their universities.
Ben Thomas won an individual silver medal and set a new Carmarthen Harriers club record in the senior men’s 3000m steeplechase.
Iestyn Williams qualified for the semi-finals of the men’s 800m, finishing in 1:51.80.
The women’s 1500m saw Ellie Kiff run 5:14 and Lili Church cleared a best of 1.71m in the women’s high jump.
Cardiff International Sports Stadium in Leckwith was the venue for the Welsh Athletics Run with the Wind sprints and field events open meeting.
Lewis Evans (100m 11:11), Dafydd
Lewis (100m 11.44 and 200m 23.11) and Harrison Wheeler (100m 11.47 and 200m 23.07) were in action in the sprint events, while on the field, Chloe Thomas threw 8.56m in the shot put.
Jonathan Williams (400m 54.35), Harrison Garcia (800m 2:04.96), Iwan Wilson (800m 2:05.55), Jake Bruce (800m 2:11.14), Iwan Thomas (1500m 4:14.54), Finley Bruce (1500m 4:25.99), Ifan Bowen (1500m 4:28.80) and Eleanor Fuller (1500m 5:41.10) competed a few days later at the Welsh Athletics endurance event fixture in the Welsh capital.
David Keenan was third overall (17:46) at the Swansea Bay Summer 5k Series, with Peter Osborne (20:46) and Bruce Morgan (29:13) following behind.
At Birmingham University, there was a new 800m personal best of 1:50.64 for Iestyn Williams at the British Milers Club Grand Prix.
At the same location, Dafydd Jones and Ben Thomas recorded lifetime best times of 3:49.98 and 3:52.22 respectively in the 1500m.
