TROSTRE CHASE DOUBLE GLORY

TROSTRE AFC will look to bounce back from cup final heartbreak when they go in search of the LTC Mobility Carmarthen­shire League and cup double this week.

The Premier division champions will look to bag their second silverware of the season when they face Pengelli United in the TG Davies Senior Cup final tonight (Wednesday) at Stebonheat­h.

Kick-off is at 7pm.

Trostre go into the showdown on the back of an agonising defeat to Seven Sisters Onllwyn in the final of the West Wales Intermedia­te Cup at the Swansea.com Stadium last Thursday.

They were beaten 6-5 on penalties after the match had finished 2-2 after extra time.

After taking the lead through Luke Jones, Trostre’s hopes were dealt a massive blow when they were forced to play the last 43 minutes and extra time with only 10 men following a second yellow card offence.

Seven Sisters took advantage and goals from Jonathan Douglas and Nathan Jones put them ahead.

Christophe­r Pryce Williams pulled it back to 2-2, but the Dulais Valley side took the trophy after a penalty shootout. Their spot-kicks were scored by Cai Thomas, Ryan Sams, Adam Campbell, Jonathan Douglas,

Emyr James and Jones.

In the TG Davies Plate final, Evans & Williams Reserves just about deserved their 3-1 win against Caerbryn.

On target for Evans & Williams were Dylan Ashford, Rory Johns and Frazer Williams.

Felinfoel reached the final of the Challenge Cup with a powerful performanc­e, knocking out CK Swiss Valley Reserves 5-1.

Tom Roberts was again in thick of the action with two goals and there was one each for Lee Owens, Chris Jones and Lloyd Francis.

It was a little tougher for Camford Sports in their semi-final, striker Jack

Roberts with a hat-trick proving the difference between the teams in a 3-1 win against FC Carmarthen.

To their credit, FC Carmarthen battled until the final whistle and were rewarded with a goal from Osian Thomas.

It was Felinfoel who claimed glory in the final as they beat Camford 2-1.

Tom Roberts and Matthew Ellis netted. Joel Andrews scored Camford’s goal.

Burry Port Reserves captured the Darch Plate when beating Johnstown Reserves 5-2 in the final. Josh Element scored two for Port, and there were also goals for Ceri Evans, Charlie Taylor and Jamie Dunleavy.
