Trostre seal the double in fine style

-

TROSTRE have ended a memorable season in style.

It was one-way traffic for most of the 90 minutes in the TG Davies Cup final at Stebonheath Park, as the Premier division champions completed the double with a 7-0 win against Pengelli United.

After the disappointment of losing in the West Wales Intermediate Cup final, it didn’t take long for Trostre to get going, taking the lead inside two minutes thanks to a goal from Liam Jones.

Christopher Price-williams doubled the advantage, and Trostre struck twice more before half-time through Jamie Jenkins and Luke Jones.

But Rhys Griffiths was still determined to show off his skills with a second-half hat-trick.

It took 120 minutes to settle the outcome between Loughor Rovers Reserves and Trostre AFC Reserves in the Darch Cup final at the same venue.

Reserve division one champions Loughor went into the showdown as favourites to complete the league and cup double, and eventually came up trumps 4-2.

In the end the difference between the two teams was Loughor striker Lewis Sherman with two of the goals. Also on target were Joel Goddard and Ben Price.

Apart from being gifted an own goal, Trostre replied with a consolation goal from Luke Haddock.

To bring the curtain down on the season, there was one game played last Saturday in the LTC Mobility Carmarthenshire League.

And there was a surprise result, with division two champions Felinfoel crashing 5-1 at home to Drefach.

Dan Gregory netted twice for Drefach, and there were also goals for Morgan Rees and Dom Bowler-edwards. The visitors also had an own goal.
