Y Cwtsh Llannon Community Council has refurbished empty rooms in the football pavilion in Parc Y Mynydd Mawr for community use. Y Cwtsh has a ‘social supermarket’ where food and other items will be available. Up to twelve items may be purchased for about £3 but this is voluntary depending on what someone can afford. Council clerk, Clare Hope, says Y Cwtsh also offers a ‘warm space’ for anyone who wants some company, a warm drink or to save on the heating bills for an hour or so! There are books to read or swap, toys and puzzles for the children to play with and regular advice ‘clinics’. If you live, work or volunteer in the Llannon Ward (Tumble, Cross Hands, Cwmmawr, Llannon) you can be a member. Y Cwtsh is open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10am to 2pm. Contact the community council llannonccclerk@outlook.com or 01269 841213 for more information.
