Dates for holiday bin collections
CARMARTHENSHIRE Council has announced its recycling and waste collection dates for Christmas and new year.
Recycling and waste collections that would usually take place on Monday, December 26 (Boxing Day), will instead be collected earlier on Saturday, December 24 (Christmas Eve).
All other recycling and waste collection days for the remaining days of the week, from December 27 until January 1, will be as normal, including hygiene and nappy waste collections.
For the week commencing Monday, January 2 (new year bank holiday), collections will take place one day later than usual.
People are asked to put bins out by 6am on your collection day.
All Carmarthenshire Council recycling centres will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day and will close at noon on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
They will be open on their usual opening days during the remainder of the Christmas and new year period.
The council’s cabinet member for transport, waste and infrastructure services, Cllr. Edward Thomas said: “I would like to thank our waste and recycling collection crews for their hard work and efforts over the coming Christmas and new year’s holidays.
“I would also like to wish everyone in Carmarthenshire a merry Christmas and please remember to recycle as much as possible and keep to the three black bag limit for your nonrecyclable waste.
“Should you wish to dispose of your real Christmas tree once the festivities are over, you can do so by taking it to one of our recycling centres in January and get a bag of ‘Merlin’s Magic Compost’ free of charge.”
