OLI IS A DYMOND IN CAERBRYN VICTORY

-

THE LTC Mobility Carmarthenshire League programme was decimated by frozen grounds last weekend, and only four games managed to survive the frost.

There were no games played in the Premier division or any of the reserve divisions.

In one of two games played in division one, striker Oliver Dymond struck four goals and provided an assist in Caerbryn’s stunning 6-1 win at Evans & Williams Reserves. It was 1-1 at half-time.

After netting in the opening half, Dymond edged Caerbryn 2-1 ahead with a 30-yard shot which gave the goalkeeper no chance.

From then to the final whistle it was one-way traffic, with a header from Stuart Dunn extending the advantage before Lewis Rees made it 4-1 from an assist by Dymond.

Fittingly it was Dymond who helped the visitors draw clear with a couple of late goals.

The three points moved Caerbryn into fourth place in the table, five points behind leaders Camford Sports with two games in hand.

There were also maximum points for third-placed Llangennech, who made ground advantage count in an impressive 6-1 win against Bancffosfelen.

It took Llangennech less than two minutes to open their account through Callum Morgan, with Alex Davies grabbing a second after eight minutes.

Davies scored his second in the 43rd minute.

A couple of second-half goals from Liam Griffiths saw to it there was no way back for Bancffosfelen, while Davies completed his hat-trick in the 89th minute.

With all the bad weather that was about, it was somewhat ironic that unbeaten Ponthenri played their first division two game in two months when defeating visiting West End United 4-1.

On target with a hat-trick was Shaun Williams, while Anthony Williams also scored.

Victory moved Ponthenri level on points at the top with Abergwili, though they do have two games in hand.

In the only other game to be given the green light, Josh Rencken starred with two of the goals for Johnstown in the 6-1 win at neighbouring Llansteffan.

It was a stroll in the park for Johnstown, who dominated thanks to four more goals from Ollie Taylor Jones, Sean Finnucane, Dillon Sizer and Alex Walters.
