More to it
Meand Lisawill never be separated again
After finishing university in 2004, I was in need of a way to unwind.
Unpacking countless boxes had taken its toll. So going online, I soon stumbled across local wellbeing centre, Get A Life! run by a Lisa Whitehead.
‘She has the same name as me,’ I smiled to myself. And she ran regular meditation classes.

A happy coincidence? Maybe. It felt like it, so I called to find out more.
I got straight through to Lisa.
As we chatted, it felt like we’d known each other for years.
‘I’d love you to come along and try a meditation class,’ she said.
Curious, flicking through her website, I spotted a picture of Lisa.
‘I know that face,’ I said.
She looked so familiar, but I couldn’t place where from.
Putting it to the back of my mind, I booked onto a class for that night.
When we met, we just clicked.
‘I feel like we’re old friends,’ I laughed.
‘And we have the same first name,’ Lisa noted, too. ‘And blonde bobs,’ I added. Something told me there was more to it, though I couldn’t put my finger on it.
Regardless, it felt like a connection I needed in my life.
So, the following week, I dropped into the centre one afternoon on a whim. ‘Hello,’ Lisa grinned, coming to greet me. We’d an instant rapport, chatted for ages about all sorts of stuff. Things I wouldn’t normally share with a new friend. Except Lisa felt like an old, trusted mate. It’s said soulmate relationships often come with coincidences – and the more Lisa and I met, the more I realised we had tons.
Years
As children, Lisa, 49, and I lived in the same small Lancashire village of Milnrow. What’s even more incredible, we’d lived only a few streets away from one another. ‘I can’t believe we were so close and never knew each other,’ I said. And we went to the same school – Roch Valley High School – though we were three years apart. While I followed a career in fashion textile design, Lisa worked in high street fashion management. Then, we both moved to Redmile. ‘There’s too many coincidences to deny something strange is going on,’ Lisa said one day. ‘I can’t believe it took all these years to meet you,’ I said.
So familiar
But the synchronicity didn’t end there.
Soon after, inspired by Lisa, I retrained in counselling and

psychotherapy, and developed my spiritual gifts. After, we saw or spoke to each other most weeks. And, in 2012, I decided to look at our astrology charts. Fascinated by karmic astrology, I did a joint one. It was uncanny. We both have Pluto in our first house, which means we’ve a special destiny to fulfil together. You tend to find this where people have set up something in a past life but are pulled apart and don’t finish it. This is why Lisa seems so familiar, I thought.
We also have Jupiter conjunct Uranus, which means we’ve come together to help people feel free.
In past lives, we’ve both been free spirits, but now have the tools to show others how to embrace their destinies.
Similarity
My jaw dropped at the similarities.
‘That’s amazing,’ Lisa said when I told her. ‘We’re soulmate sisters.’
I couldn’t be happier to have found my spiritual sibling. But there’s room in our lives for other soulmates, and we’re both in happy, loving relationships.
Our lives have been like a scene from Sliding Doors, but I’m pleased our paths crossed.
I can’t imagine life without Lisa now.
Though I still can’t believe it took so long for us to come across each other.
Just like our charts suggested, we run spiritual workshops together, helping women awaken their intuition.
It’s great to have found Lisa again. Whatever life, past or present, throws at us, we’ll never be separated.
