Dark secrets

I

t was evening when I was back in my hotel after a great day touring this stunning little town called Bled in Slovenia.

I noticed a picture hung on the wall. It was of St Martin, the Catholic church just outside.

At a closer look, I read the name of a priest, Janez Oblak.

It said he designed the church in 1905.

His name was also on my room’s door.

I thought of the hotel’s name – Old Parish House.

Before it was converted, it was where the Catholic priests used to live.

A chilling thought hit me.

Did Janez Oblak die in this room? Was his spirit still here?

I decided to find out. In the dark, I started filming on my phone. I saw orbs on the screen. I asked questions out loud, and they seemed to respond. ‘Are there priests in here?’ I got one orb for yes. ‘How many?’ I asked. And two orbs flew across the room. Asking more questions, I found that there were the spirits of priests and even children. Strange. This was a 19th-century building, but why was it so frenetically busy with other world activity? The next day, I questioned the girl who worked at the hotel. She directed me to the priest who lived next door, Janez Ferkolj, who filled me in. ‘This hotel was occupied by German soldiers during WWII,’ he told me. ‘There was a TV documentary that showed Hitler initiated his own religion here.’ According to him, Hitler wanted Bled to be the centre of his new religion, but it never happened. Well, that explained all the spiritual activity! Despite its dark secret, The Old Parish House is now a lovely place to be, with a fascinating history.
