DARLING DAISY

Dear Jackie

Iadopted my girl Daisy, aged nine. Sadly she has since passed. I want her to know how incredible she was, and to be reassured that she lives on in spirit. Rosie, Doncaster

Dear Rosie

Daisy says it was like you had known each other all of your lives. She was so very trustworthy and was the gentlest soul. She was hugely grateful to you and you had the most loyal bond.

She talks about you keeping a diary. She makes me aware of some serious back issues that she had, and the promise you made her. She says she got old and frail although never was ‘senile’!

She always knew where her food was and ate well right to the end. She had a serene passing and was ready to go.

She shows me a scruffy little dog, who could be rather annoying! I’m seeing it sitting on the arm of a settee. She also mentions the name Jenna.

Daisy says to please give a home to the one you are looking at, and mentions an envelope that came to you, but wasn’t posted through a door – what is that about?

She says she is not lonely and shows me a big white fluffy type of dog. She knows you thought she was incredible, and thanks you for everything, and will always be part of you.

Rosie says:

Daisy and I had a bond that you could not even describe. It was like I had known her forever. It’s so sweet that she was grateful as my promise was to help her – she had been rehomed as she could hardly walk. We eventually found out she had a slipped disc and managed to get it sorted. She could then walk normally and was my loyal companion. I did keep a diary, all about her.

The scruffy dog is my Yorkie, who, yes, did use to tease her, from the arm of the settee! Jenna is my friend who also was broken-hearted about her dog. The white dog is an Akita who I know passed last year. We used to joke that she was senile – that’s so funny!

I have been looking at adopting another dog, so I take her blessing. The envelope was a card about Daisy left under my car windscreen wiper by a friend. She will always be in my heart and mind.
