Night terror

Shortly after I gave birth, I dreamt that a light was shining in my room and a man was by the bed – it was a neighbour I hadn’t seen since I was a child. I asked him to leave and felt sure he expected me to go with him. The next day, feeling ill, I visited the doctor who said I had a high temperature and an infection. I soon learnt that the neighbour, who I hadn’t thought of in years, had died at the time of my dream. Pat Lowther, Durham
