That’s ace!
Jenny Smedley, 67, from Swaffham, Norfolk
Ace, a German Shepherd X Labrador, was a handful. The 3-month-old puppy had already been returned to the rescue centre several times.
When we met, she climbed into my arms and rolled tummy up.
From that moment on, I was hers.
Ace was loving, clever and brave.
When I was knocked down in a field by a ram, she grabbed him by the ear and walked him in circles until I escaped. My protector! Ace lived until she was 15. As she took her last breath, my husband Tony said: ‘You can come back to live with us any time.’ Six months later, in September 2004, I went to look at some Springer X Labrador puppies on a farm. The pups rushed towards me, apart from one. ‘That’s odd,’ said the farmer. ‘She barks at everyone. I thought I’d never get rid of her.’ I crouched down and the pup climbed into my arms and rolled tummy up… just like Ace! What’s more, she had the same nipple missing as Ace. I bought her – was she Ace reincarnated? At home I called the puppy KC, she settled in quickly. KC knew where her toys were, and slept under the kitchen table where Ace slept. I’m convinced Ace’s soul has reincarnated into KC. Whilst researching Forever Faithful, I discovered loads of people whose dogs have come back. I believe every dog reincarnates, but only those with a special link returned to their owners. I’m sure I’m one of the lucky ones.
