Our dog has gone missing and I’m torn apart by guilt

-

Dear Miss Crimebuster

I’m devastated and riddled with guilt that I left our cherished family miniature poodle in the garden when I popped into town. My sister thinks I left the gate open and won’t speak to me. I think someone jumped the fence and nicked her. Will we get her back? Nikki, 16, Derby

Dear Nikki

A young man climbed over the fence at the back of your garden, which has lots of pots and a shed. He grabbed your dog and left through the gate. Sadly you won’t get her back as he sold her to breeders, but she’s being well cared for. Your sister will soften soon, and another dog will restore happiness.
