The wonderful Gundestrup cauldron has been an inspiration to pagans and historians. It dates from between the first century BC to the first CE, and was found in a bog near Gundestrup in Denmark. Its design reveals links between communities in Europe and Asia. Ancient myths, Gods and heroes are depicted, in particular a horned figure who inspires ideas of the Horned nature, God of called Cernunnos. There is also a scene that looks like a deity bringing a dead warrior back to life by dipping him into a cauldron. This suggests the cauldron has been a symbol of magic since ancient times.
