-

Throughout your life, you have around 396 friendships, but only around one in 12 last. Having lots of friends has been proved to have a positive effect on your health, too. A 10-year study by the Centre for Ageing at Flinders University, Australia, found having a network of mates is more important than having close relatives, to prolong life. Folk aged over 70 with lots of friends tended to live 22 per cent longer than those with fewer pals!
