Sandra and Steve were the same. Shocked at first, but anyone could see how happy we were. The wedding was perfect. After six weeks of being pregnant, I had my first scan.

‘You’re having twins,’ the nurse smiled.

Chris and I were gobsmacked.

Then we both burst into tears of laughter. Typical us not to do things by halves!

My mum went straight out to buy baby clothes.

‘So you’ve forgiven me for moving in so fast!’ I teased.

In March 2014, twins Ellie-may and Casey-may were born.

Weighing 4lb 10oz and 5lb 6oz, they were 4 weeks premature but healthy. Holding a tiny princess in each arm was surreal.

Then, just three months later, I’d finished breastfeeding the girls when…

‘You’re not pregnant again, are you?’ my nan Helen asked. ‘It’s baby fat!’ I laughed as she poked my tum.

But, then, Chris and I had wasted no time jumping back into bed…

I took a test – it was positive! Chris nearly fell off his seat.

We’d always wanted more, but not so soon! In March the following year, Tillie-may was born, weighing 6lb 10oz.

Poor Chris was well and truly outnumbered by girls…

‘Maybe a boy next time?’ I winked.

‘Not for a while!’ he replied. So, I went on the Pill. But, in May last year, I missed another period…

I had deja vu as I took my third pregnancy test. Heaven knows why, but my Pill had failed.

‘I’m pregnant again!’ I gasped to Chris.

This time, we found out it was a boy.

And, this February, baby Bailey was born, at 6lb 10oz.

Thankfully, he’s been the easiest to look after! Not that life isn’t still chaos. Especially as Chris is setting up a personal-training business and I’ve gone back to work in retail part-time. But we make it work. I wake up every day and count my lucky stars.

Just four years ago, I wasn’t even thinking about getting married.

Never mind having four kids under 5!

It’s been a worthwhile whirlwind, that’s for sure.
