Strange range call...

Kansas City librarian John Horner researched the case. And, in 2003, he received a call. The caller wouldn’t give a name, but said he’d been itemising the belongings of an elderly person who had died. Among them was a box of newspaper clippings on the case. Plus an item mentioned in those clippings.

What that item was, the caller refused to say before the phone went dead…
