Cold myth

-

Q My mum says I should breathe in through my nose and out through my mouth to prevent colds! Does it work? Nina, 37

A Afraid not! Victorian doctors reasoned that, since your nostrils are lined with little hairs to trap impurities, breathing in through your nose would protect against infections. It prevents a dry mouth, but actually makes no difference to colds!
