Your holiday: Seville
Soak up the sunshine If you’re planning a spring break, consider Seville. With highs of 25ºc from March, and sunshine through to November, it’s the perfect place to catch the best of the sun.
Time for tapas It’s hard to go more than a couple of streets without stumbling across yet another tapas bar. Eat your way around the city with delicious little plates of bite-sized Spanish delicacies – accompanied by a chilled glass of dry sherry, of course!
Dance the night away For a taste of traditional flamenco, hotfoot it to Casa de la Memoria, where they put on all-singing, all-dancing performances every night – but be sure to arrive early for a good seat. There are daily flamenco classes, too, if you fancy giving it a go.
Get a bird’s-eye view Seville’s unusual, mushroom-like Metropol Parasol divides opinions, but the distinctive structure is well worth a visit. Take the lift up to the winding walkway on top of this giant sunshade for amazing views of the city.
Winter is coming… Listen up, Game of Thrones fans. Seville’s stunning Alcázar – royal palace – was used as a location set for Dorne, and it’s even more beautiful in reality. Whether you love the show or not, its orange-tree garden is a must-see.
Visit an icon Not only is the city’s stunning cathedral the largest gothic cathedral in the world, it’s also home to the incredible tomb of Christopher Columbus. Visit in the afternoon to skip the long, morning queues.
