Sussex storks

-

The first young British stork for 600 years made its first flight last Friday and landed successfully. Its number is GB4H. The next day numbers three and five also made their first flight. On the lake nearby at Knepp Castle photographer David Shaw watched heron, Canada geese, and kingfishers flying across the hammer pond. To cap it all he watched a red deer stag in the water attacking bushes at the start of its rut.
