Adapting to the new way of business networking
Iam a huge advocate of business networking, and pre lockdown, it was easy meeting the self-employed. I would ensure I could fit as many diary dates in as possible and in my view, if you aren’t getting your brand in front of networking groups, you are certainly missing out!
Then lockdown happened! Those coffee dates, morning breakfast events and evening wine tasting seminars all ‘dried up’, overnight.
Even my own company event calendar which had bookings for the British Grand Prix, Goodwood FOS and our annual client dinner at Crouchers hotel, all but disappeared...
But what a resilient bunch we all are! We have adapted to a new way and accepted the likes of Zoom and Teams into our daily life as the new
normal way of communicating in business.
I have always had a passion for working with our next generation of business owners.
Since joining the board of the
Chichester Chamber of Commerce, I wanted to offer a pathway for our next generation by (in Shelagh Legrave’s words), bridging the gap between education and the workplace.
So I am thrilled that we are just about to run the pilot for our Young Chamber of Commerce, aimed at those aged between 18-29.
