Side effects from medication led to a new ‘natural alternative’ business
A Chichester man has set up a company to help people deal with health issues in ‘a more natural way’.
While travelling in Australia, Jacob Stray was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, which resulted in him slowly losing the sight in his left eye, having severe back spasms and often feeling numb in his arms and legs.
After having adverse side effects from the medication he was prescribed, he went on a search for an alternative to help relieve the symptoms.
He began using CBD oil, switched to a plantbased, holistic lifestyle and said he ‘instantly’ noticed the improvements in his condition.
After telling his story on social media, the then 23-yearold noticed there were a lot of people in similar positions to his who were looking for a more natural alternative to prescription medication.
He set up The Natural Prescription in December 2019 to help people discover the benefits CBD can bring.
The business offers products which use organic, hemp-derived CBD and CBG to offer natural remedies to common health issues, such as flavoured tinctures, pain-relief balm, massage oils, cooling gel and edible gummies.
It has been said to provide many health benefits to the user, such as aiding towards a healthy immune system and easing stress and anxiety and improving health conditions.
In the two years Jacob, now 25, has been using CBD, he has gone from barely being able to walk straight, to having almost full mobility and even being able to train from his home gym.
He said: “It’s changed me and my family’s life. I’ve got 70 per cent of my vision back and I’m able to train. My mum has fibromyalgia and now uses minimal medication and has more energy.
“CBD has played a pivotal part in the changes in our lives.
“My whole life completely changed when I started using it. I feel like I’m in control of my life now. If I didn’t have it, I wouldn’t be where I am now.
“I want to change other people’s lives like how mine has changed. It has been shown to assist many people with conditions from insomnia, depression to easing symptoms of major illnesses and chronic pain.”
He said all products are triple laboratory tested and are sourced by a UK supplier, which is fully prepared for its application for the novel foods license next month. CBD is a natural product sourced from hemp and contains less then 0.2 per cent THC – meaning it is non-psychoactive.
