Soon Bowry crossed to Allan who converted.

Chichester’s strong back line of Smith, Gilmour, Thomson , Parrott and O’callaghan worked well to keep Portsmouth at bay until they scored from a short corner.

Passing involving Overton Smith, Campbell and Fleming led to Webster scoring with a clean shot.

A penalty flick made it 4-3 to the home team. Minutes before the final whistle, Goddard produced a clean short corner that found its way via an impressive volley by Warr, so it finished 4-4.

Despite missing key players, the Friars fielded a strong side including a couple of talented youngsters.

Despite possession, the Friars were not able to penetrate the defence and were fortunate not to concede when a short corner was awarded before the ball went into the goal.

The Friars opened the scoring when Andrew Savory fired the ball home in a sweeping move on 29 minutes. The lead was doubled just before half time with Savory finishing another patient build-up.

In the second half Savory completed his hat-trick with a direct shot from a short corner on 37 minutes.

Good saves by Rob Torrance and strong defending kept out Trojans and Savory scored his 4th on 45 minutes.
