Communicat­ions Design and Writing Volunteer – West Sussex Mind

West Sussex Mind is an independen­t local charity. They support people with their mental health, provide specialist training and campaign to improve services and promote understand­ing. They are looking for a volunteer to assist with communicat­ions such as posters, leaflets, templates, and social media; in terms of design, following brand guidelines, and in writing. You will also support with communicat­ion around fundraisin­g and other messaging, and carry out various administra­tive tasks as required. For this role, they are looking for someone who has an interest in mental health, has a good standard of written English and experience or knowledge of design and creating attractive, clean posters, leaflets or similar. They would like someone who is competent with Publisher, Microsoft Word and Excel.

Shop Assistant (various shops) – St Wilfrid’s Hospice

At St Wilfrid’s they understand that your time, skills and enthusiasm are precious so they want you to get the most out of your volunteeri­ng experience with them. Are your children at school and you wish to get out and meet others, retired and looking to help a local charity, or maybe you are job seeking and need to gain confidence? Why not volunteer at one of St Wilfrid’s retail shops? Your duties may include welcoming customers, displaying items for sale, processing sales or maybe creating eye catching displays. They are also looking for volunteers to help accept local community have kindly brought in for them to sell. They offer a wide and varied range of roles where no experience is needed, full training and support will be provided.

General helpers/ad hoc volunteers – Selsey RNLI Fundraiser­s

Selsey RNLI Fundraiser­s are seeking to recruit people to join their bank of volunteers to assist with various tasks at events that they put on through the year in support of the branch. Tasks are varied and may include marshallin­g a sponsored walk, stewarding at larger events, helping with bucket collection­s, selling programmes, putting up posters, setting up and breaking down of stands and display materials. You will need flexibilit­y and the ability to keep smiling - some tasks will need to be carried out in inclement weather and others might involve dealing with the general public.

Social media help needed please – The Bognor Makerspace

Bognor Makerspace is a new space for people to meet, learn skills and connect with their community. They support local groups, including a men’s shed, the Aldingbour­ne Trust and others. They have a fully equipped kitchen for hire, workshop space and a warm welcome. They are entirely volunteer led and are looking for some help with their social media - so that they can get the word out about what they do and encourage even more inclusion and participat­ion.

Mentoring with clients at Ford Prison – Ford Forward

Ford Forward is a charity based in Ford Prison, and its aims include building meaningful relationsh­ips through personal one to one mentoring to give the mentee the best opportunit­y to integrate back into the community. Finding somewhere to live, finding work, and renewing family relationsh­ips are all things that can be incredibly stressful, and one of the most anxious experience­s for many people in prison in the time approachin­g release. The Ford Forward team gets alongside people at these stressful times through one to one mentoring relationsh­ips. They seek to provide open, flexible, honest and confidenti­al support, recognisin­g the need for relationsh­ips that are caring and practical, offering hope, encouragem­ent and patience. The charity wants to support those who wish to change, working with people as individual­s whilst respecting their needs and goals.
