H&H held its most recent sale on June 24 with some pretty favourable results, considering it was an online auction that saw more than 500 bidders from across the UK, Europe and beyond. The auction highlight was the sale of a 1934 Lagonda M45 T7 Tourer which had been independently valued at £120k, but hammered at £188,600, illustrating that despite the overall gloom about the economy, car auction sales still seem to be going great guns.

The sale saw 70% of the cars listed sold, including a 1928 Dodge Brothers Victory Six sedan, originally from New Zealand and in right-hand drive. Painted in cream, it looks to have been seeing service as a wedding car and was imported into the UK in 1990. American cars which didn’t sell and are still available include another antipodean brass-era Chrysler, this time a 1926 Chrysler Series 58 Tourer which h was supplied new in Australia with right-hand drive. The car’s s also been used as a wedding vehicle for the past 23 years in Southport, Lancashire and appears to be in excellent condition – its estimate was £9000-£11,000.

Probably most surprising is the handsome 1966 Ford Galaxie 500 which also didn’t sell. Painted in what looks like Ford’s popular Springtime Yellow, the car still appears to wear its unmarked original black vinyl interior and is powered by a 352cu in V8 and three-speed auto ’box. Imported into the UK in 1997, it was estimated at between £10,000 and £12,000. For further details or to register your interest in the unsold cars, see: www. handh.handhco.couk
