What a lovely surprise to see a photo of my late brother, Brian Roberts, in Mike Jackson’s memory-stirring article on the best days of Greeves in February’s

Classic Bike. In the background of the photo, by the Cherrysons catering van, is Mike Jackson and Yamaha works TT rider Tony Godfrey, plus AN Other. On page 74 Mike was pictured on his immaculate Greeves trials bike which he and his mechanic Karl had modified (at his own expense) into a beautiful, functional trials iron. Beside Mike, on XLJ 367 (the bike also pictured on page 75) is Nick Hunter, who is sadly no longer with us. He and his brother once raised a few eyebrows by both competing on this bike in a trial and swapping the number at the start of each observed section! DAVID ROBERTS, CORNWALL
