1970: Forms Surtees Racing Organisation as a constructor, competing in F5000, F2 and F1 until team is disbanded at the end of 1978
1972: Wins European F2 title and European F500
titles as a constructor (with Mike Hailwood and Gijs van Lennep respectively)
2008: Awarded OBE for his contributions to motorsport
2009: Establishes the Henry Surtees Foundation following the death of son Henry in a racing accident
