RICK’S WIDE WHEEL WORRY

Everything seemed straight on my Rudge, so how come the wheel was too wide for the forks? According to the parts book, the wheels are all the same. Poking a straight bar through the top and bottom spring mounts revealed all – down at the axle end, the bar was no longer in the centre.

The fork was slightly bent inward. A straight edge revealed where, and with carefully-applied pressure I was able to straighten it. Panic over...
