‘NUMBERS ARE CORRECT’

- bernard gorham

I’ve had my 1949 Triumph TR5 Trophy for a while now – I got it from a chap in Grimsby who had worked with my father in the ’60s. The bike was originally sold by Johnson Motors in Pasadena, USA – the have not been drilled, so the engine has never been in a generator. When I bought it, there was a sprung hub fitted; I tracked down the speedo drive that fits behind the gearbox, but then decided to fit a rigid wheel. The rims are still Dunlops, with a new-old-stock rear tyre.
