This isn’t just a treat for triples – get over to Anglesey whatever you ride

BEEZUMPH 26, ANGLESEY RACE CIRCUIT

Despite being organised by the Trident and Rocket 3 Owners Club (TR3OC), the Beezumph is one of the most welcoming track-based events on the calendar. This year’s rally theme may be ‘Celebrating the Rocket 3’, but if you’re on a twin, single or even a four you’ll be made just as welcome on the Friday ride-out on the back roads of Anglesey or the track sessions on Saturday.

That includes Japanese classics – when we visited last year, machinery as diverse as a mid-’70s Honda MT125 racer and a CBX1000 were mixing it with the Brit twins and plenty of wonderful Triumph and BSA triples. There are three classes open to any pre-1985 machine – Classic, Fast Classic and Expert Classic – as well as Open Class sessions for any bike regardless of age. On top of that, there’s also a special ‘Entry Level’ class, conducted by travelling marshals, for riders wanting a controlled introduction to track riding. You can even hire a pit garage if you get in quick.

There’s plenty to see and do even if you don’t want to ride the swooping 2.1-mile circuit. Friday’s guided ride-out gets underway at 1pm and, on your return to the circuit, there’s a TR3OC autojumble in the marquee before the party gets underway with a live band. Saturday’s action centres on the track before the various awards get dished out and the barbeque strikes up to lead into another night of live music and cold beer. And you’ve got Sunday to recover before the ride home.

Track session tickets (including entry to the circuit and camping) cost £110 for club members and £130 for non-members, with Entry Level track passes at £30 (for two 15-minute sessions only). If you just want to hang out and spectate, a rally pass is just £20.

We were impressed last year – you can’t fail to be, too.
