Engine

The 52 x 58mm long-stroke engine has been converted to liquid cooling. The fins and ports were machined off a standard Bantam, with iron barrel, water jacket and new exhaust and inlet port stubs added. Originally, the cooling system ran on the thermos-syphon principle, without a pump, but Mike has added an electric pump from an old caravan. Carb is a 34mm Dell’orto VHSB with a bespoke upside-down egg-shaped bore by Jon King.
