Free time
Hard to believe maybe, but this year’s Museum Live event at the National Motorcycle museum is the fifth of their free days out – and it’s now an annual fixture on the classic calendar. Museum Live has become enormously popular over the last few years and the museum staff are determined to make this year the best yet.
In 2017, visitors were treated to appearances from former world champions Freddie Spencer and Carl Fogarty – and their respective partners, Alexandra and Michaela – along with a bevy of other top riders including Michael Rutter, Peter Hickman and Maria Costello. With ex-gp ace Steve Parrish acting as compere and interviewer, it was a recipe for success from the off. This year promises more of the same. Although the guest lineup has yet to be confirmed for this year, museum director James Hewing promises ‘major names’.
Away from the main stage in the Britannia Suite there’s plenty more to enjoy. Many of the museum’s specialist suppliers will be on hand and the museum’s own restoration team will be happy to share their experience. There’s an indoor autojumble and trade area too.
