Greetings from the USA (Oregon, to be exact). Just a quick note of appreciation for the fine work of the Classic Bike staff. In particular, the May 2020 issue was full of interesting articles, and the photo on pages 40-41 (‘Four and Aft’) of the MV Augusta 750S and Magni 861 was simply stunning. And of course, the visit and interview with Agostini was also a delight. Keep up the good work – we appreciate it over here!

I really enjoyed the February 2020 edition’s celebration of the BSA and Triumph triples from the early ’70s. I was there when Paul Smart set the record lap at Crystal Palace on one at 85.53mph. Equalled a year later but never beaten, the record represented an amazing speed on a circuit edged with concrete walls and three-high railway sleepers. The sound was incredible!

It’s not cabin fever, it’s not that I’m an old romantic, but despite my love of classic bikes (especially British), how can anyone not be stirred by your feature in the April issue on BSA’S Rgs-spec A10, 750cc Firebird and 770cc Spitfire, all sorted with SRM parts? Would

Classic Bike consider offering any BSA bike, from the silver 1959 B33 model through to the A-series range as the ultimate prize draw? I, like many of your other readers I’m sure, would pay £10 for a ticket, just for the privilege of having a go and supporting

Classic Bike magazine.
