October 2/3 Race weekend, Shuttleworth
Collection, Old Warden Aerodrome, near Biggleswade, Bedfordshire Always a great place to visit at any time, the Shuttleworth collection hosts its annual none-too-serious ‘race’ day. Open to pre-39 cars and bikes, it’s a great chance to give your vintage bike a full-throttle blast up the newly-extended grass runway – or just admire the vintage machinery from the sidelines. shuttleworth.org

October 9/10 The 28th Classic Motorcycle
Mechanics Show, Stafford
Showground
Fairly hot on the heels of the rescheduled April show at Stafford (actually held in July), comes the big one for fans of later classics. And, with Covid restrictions easing further, we hope the show will be back to something like normal.
TT superstar Michael Dunlop is the guest of honour and he’ll doubtless be casting a professional eye over the popular GP paddock and enjoying the sights and sounds of some classic racing machinery being fired up. Elsewhere on site, there’ll be the usual huge autojumble, hordes of trade and club displays and the prestigious private entry concours. staffordclassicbikeshows.com

Anyone with a Vincent or Velocette will be particularly welcome, but it’s a day for all Brit bikes, so take a ride down and show ‘em what you’ve got. Or just go along and ogle at what they’ve got. london.acecafe.com
