TR7 BUYING TIPS WHAT TO LOOK OUT FOR

-

Watch out for corrosion around the chassis rails, particularly around the subframe mounting points. Also inspect the suspension strut points.

A-posts are notorious for rot so check their entire length. Also, look extremely carefully around the boot flfloor area.

Like the MGB, the Triumph TR7 has a complex sill structure, comprising an inner, outer and centre unit, all of which makes it exceedingly diffifificult to repair. Beware!

Check the pop-up headlamps. If neither rises to the occasion, faulty wiring is the likely culprit.

Engines can suffer from timing gear trouble and warped cylinder heads, along with furredup waterways. Be mindful that your potential purchase doesn’t overheat!
