This week I was fortunate enough to interview Formula 1 designer Gordon Murray. His work with McLaren and Brabham had led to many design icons, and he’s still at it today – he’s the man behind TVR’s new machine. What really amazed me about Gordon, though, was that even as a man of motorsport, and as someone who created one of the most exotic cars of all time, his love of everyday classics is enormous. He’s got an Austin-Healey Frogeye Sprite, Ford Cortinas, and is smitten with the Renault 4. Plus, he drives and enjoys them. It makes you think – money can’t buy you taste, but it can’t take it away either.
