1976 AUSTIN MAXI

Leicester-based classic car enthusiast Steve Swann bought this Austin Maxi for £50 when he was in his twenties and spent five years restoring it. At last year’s show a friend accidentally drove into it, but after a restoration of the damaged tailgate it was back this year and looking better than ever, which impressed the judges. Steve, who clearly loves BL classics, is now hard at work restoring an Austin Allegro SDL Series I.
