MARK SHEPLEY

Mark Shepley bought his first Farina in 2005; since then he’s owned three Oxfords, a Princess 3-Litre and two Westminsters. He still owns the latter pair, an A99 and an A110, both in superb condition. Says Mark: ‘My dad ran Farinas when I was a child and I loved the styling – I still do. You don’t need a big budget to buy one of these cars and parts availability is brilliant as long as you keep your eyes open. On that note the club is a great source of parts and it’s full of really friendly enthusiasts, so membership is a must. I do 2000-3000 miles per year in each of my cars, averaging about 22mpg on a run. The unstressed engines make driving very relaxing and although I don’t tow with my cars they’re easily up to it. Things are made easier with overdrive; my A99 has it but the A110 doesn’t, which is annoying as it was standard on the earlier cars.’
