Bicester to rival Beaulieu

-

Bicester Heritage has announced it will be attempting to rival Beaulieu’s International Autojumble’s Automart – thanks to a ‘groundbreaking’ new feature.

The new Motor Market offers visitors the chance to buy and sell cars made before 1990 at the site on designated days. The first of these is the business park’s Sunday Scramble on Drive-It Day, 23 April.

Philip White, head of marketing for Bicester Heritage, says the Motor Market concept could become as big as the classic car sales area at Beaulieu International Autojumble’s Automart, which offers around 200 vehicles from private sellers.

Peter says: ‘We’re starting off small but I think it has potential. Several thousand like-minded people will come to Bicester for Drive-It Day. Two years ago our Sunday Scramble event was quite low key, about 150 people and 100 cars. Now it’s around 3000 cars.’

At the same event, the Hagerty Valuation Arena is offering car valuations for £15. The fee includes photographs, assessment by expert before being presented with a valuation certificate. ■ www.bicesterheritage.co.uk
