BROOKLANDS MG ERA DAY
WEYBRIDGE, SURREY, 10 APRIL
Two of MG’s livelier two-seaters – the TA and the Midget – were the star cars at this one-day gathering at Brooklands Museum.
The MGF Register, the Mid-Essex MG Owners’ Club and the Zed Register were among the organisations that took part in this year’s event, with more than 250 octagon-badged classics taking part in displays around the museum grounds and on the remains of the banked circuit. The flagship display in Brooklands’ paddock was given over to the T-Series Register, which put together an eight-car display to highlight the TA’s 80th anniversary.
The MG Midget’s 55th anniversary was also highlighted by the event organiser, with owners of the diminutive roadster encouraged to park in a singlemodel display on the approach to the banking.
Show entrants not content with showing their cars off in the static displays also got the chance to take part in two cavalcades around the neighbouring MercedesBenz World circuit, and take on the punishing gradients of the original circuit’s Test Hill. David Simister
